Fair giveaway draw

A fair giveaway draw posts the rules, shows a clean list, spins in the open, removes each winner, and keeps a receipt.

Open the raffle wheel

Write the rules before you paste names

Say who can enter, how many winners you will draw, and whether extra tickets change the odds. Then collect names.

If you change the rules after people enter, the room will not trust the spin. Put the rules on the same screen as the wheel. The raffle wheel is the tool for one winner after another.

Say whether staff can win. Say whether one person can win two prizes. Say what happens if the winner is not there. Write those lines before you open the list. A random winner picker cannot fix a rule you forgot to post.

Clean the entry list

Dedupe the list. Keep one row per person unless you promised weighted tickets. Fix spelling so the winner is a real person.

A duplicate name is an extra ticket you did not mean to give. If tickets are sold in bundles, use the weighted wheel and set the weight. Show the cleaned list before you spin.

Watch for the same person under two spellings. Watch for a whole class pasted twice. If you import a sheet, check the column you picked. One bad column is a draw nobody can defend. Cleaning is the longest step. That is normal.

Show the list on screen

Leave the entries visible. People should be able to find their name. A hidden list looks like a hidden pick.

On a stream, zoom the page or use Present so the list and the wheel share the frame. If someone spots a missing name, add it before the draw, not after.

Read two or three names out loud from the list so people know you are not hiding a second file. Then spin. If chat is fast, pause ten seconds after you show the list. A fair giveaway spinner is boring for a moment. That moment is the proof.

Spin and remove each winner

Press the labelled Spin the wheel button. Then remove that winner so they cannot win the next prize.

The raffle wheel starts with Don’t repeat winners on. History is the place list. Do not redraw a winner unless your posted rules say you will.

If the winner cannot take the prize, follow the rule you posted. Some hosts draw a backup name after the first winner confirms. Do not invent that rule in the moment. The labelled button is Spin the wheel. Use it once per prize.

Keep proof of the draw

Winner history stays in this browser. Draw receipt adds a SHA-256 note of the winner and a hash of the list. Export CSV if you need a file.

The receipt is an audit note, not a third-party certificate. Save it if your brand or school asks for a record. Weighted tickets belong on the weighted wheel, not on a hidden extra spin. Weighted wheel.

Export CSV when you need a file for a sponsor. Keep history on screen if you only need first, second, and third. If someone asks how the pick was random, send them to the secure random selection page. The method is the same on every tool.

A fair giveaway draw is a process, not a faster spin. Rules, clean list, show, spin, remove, proof. Open the raffle wheel to do it. Use the weighted wheel only when extra tickets were part of the rules. The giveaway hub has the live-stream note: fullscreen the page, no extra plugin. If chat asks you to redraw, point at the rules you posted. If a sponsor asks for a file, export CSV or the receipt. The spin is the show. The list and the rules are the fairness. Keep Don’t repeat winners on so a name cannot take two prizes in one draw unless your rules said they can.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Spinning before the room can see the list.
  • Leaving duplicate names that act like extra tickets.
  • Redrawing a winner because the chat did not like the name.

Common questions

How do I pick a raffle winner fairly?

Post the rules, clean the list, show it, spin, and remove the winner. Keep history or a receipt.

What is a random winner picker?

It is a tool that chooses one name from a list at random. NamesWheel does that with crypto.getRandomValues before the wheel moves.

Can I use a giveaway spinner on a stream?

Yes. Open Stream mode, copy the overlay link, and add it to OBS as a browser source. The background is transparent.

How do extra tickets work?

Open the weighted wheel and set a weight per person. Do not paste the same name many times unless you mean to.

Where do I export the result?

Use Results or More to export CSV, a text list, or a draw receipt.
