How it works

  1. Set Min and Max. Type the lowest and highest integers you want. This page is any range. A ready-made 1 through 100 list lives on its own template.
  2. Load numbers. Load numbers replaces the wheel with every integer from Min to Max, including both ends.
  3. Spin. Press Spin. The dialog shows the integer. Don't repeat winners, if it is on, takes that integer out of the next spin.

This number wheel builds a list of integers and spins that list. It is a number picker, not a casino wheel. If you searched for a number roulette wheel, you are in the right kind of tool only if you wanted an integer on screen.

Wheel of numbers is as fair as the list you loaded. Load numbers writes every integer from Min to Max once. With Allow repeated winners on, each remaining spin still uses that full list, so a 1 to 10 wheel stays at 1 in 10.

Settings explained

Controls on this page
ControlWhat it does
MinLowest integer included when you load the range.
MaxHighest integer included when you load the range.
Load numbersFills the wheel with the integers from Min to Max.
Don't repeat winnersAfter a spin, that entry leaves the pool. The next spin cannot land on it until you put it back. Turning this on also turns Allow repeated winners off.
Allow repeated winnersThe full list stays in play after every spin. Use this when the same result is allowed to come up again.
SpinStarts one draw from the entries that are still in the pool.

Use cases

Any range. Use Min and Max for the range you actually need. Do not load 1 to 100 and then ignore most of the slices. Example: Min 1, Max 6, for a die you can show on a projector.

Calling tickets. A number picker for door prizes should remove each ticket after it is called. Example: Min 1, Max 40, Don't repeat winners on, then Spin until you have three numbers.

Classroom drill. A random number picker for mental math can allow repeats so the same fact can return. Example: Min 2, Max 12, Allow repeated winners on.

Warm-up laps. Spin wheel number of laps only if the range is the one you loaded. Check Min and Max before the first spin. Example: Min 1, Max 4, four possible lap counts.

A fixed 1–100 list. If you want 1 through 100 with no repeats already on, open the 1–100 number wheel template. This page stays the any-range spinner. Example: Leave this page when the range is not 1 to 100.

Repeats on: each spin stays 1/10Removal on: 1/10, then 1/9, then 1/8

Turn on Don't repeat winners and the pool shrinks. A 1 to 10 wheel is 1 in 10, then 1 in 9, then 1 in 8. The picture on this page shows that shrink. The removed number stays out until you load the range again.

Picker wheel numbers should match what you say to the room. If you announce 1 to 20, set Max to 20 and press Load numbers before anyone watches the spin. Editing Min after the load does nothing until you load again.

A random picker number for a game can be one spin or a series. The history tab keeps the results of this visit in the browser. It is not a public draw log and it is not a payout.

Spin the wheel numbers you need, then stop. Adding extra spins to chase a favorite number is you choosing. The wheel will happily return that number if it is still in the pool.

Say the range out loud and then look at the loaded list. The first and last lines should be your Min and your Max. If they are not, you have not pressed Load numbers since the last edit. A wheel of numbers that still shows an old range will draw from that old range, no matter what the fields say.

Removal is a choice about the game, not a fairness upgrade. A die that can repeat should leave Allow repeated winners on. A ticket draw that must not call the same number twice should use Don't repeat winners. No repeats is a third switch: it marks numbers used for the round without deleting them. Read the hint in Customize before you turn it on, because it is not the same as deleting a winner.

Keep this page for ranges that change. When you always want 1 through 100 with removal already on, the 1–100 template is the shorter start. Mixing the two in one explanation confuses the room. Tell them which page you opened.

Write the range on the board if the room cannot see Min and Max. Then load it and spin. A number that is outside that range did not come from this wheel. Check you are looking at the latest dialog, not an earlier one still open. Large ranges hide slice text and show the integer in the dialog, so read the dialog to the room. The 1–100 template is only for that fixed list.

Tips and fairness

Large ranges still spin, and the labels get compact once the wheel is crowded. The winner dialog shows the integer even when the slice text is hidden.

There is no cash prize, no ticket sale, and no claim that a number is lucky. It is an integer from the list you loaded.

Common questions

Can I pick 1–100 without repeats?

Yes. Turn on Don’t repeat winners so drawn numbers leave the pool.

Can it pick multi-digit numbers?

Yes. Set a range such as 100–999 for three digits, or 1000–9999 for four. A range can hold up to 2,000 values.

Can I draw student roll numbers?

Yes. Set min to 1 and max to the class size, then spin.

Does this page force 1 to 100?

No. Min and Max are whatever range you type, and Load numbers fills that range. The 1–100 number wheel is a separate template with 1 through 100 and no repeats already on. Use that template when you want the fixed list. Use this page when the range changes.

Why did my Min change not show on the wheel?

The wheel updates when you press Load numbers. Typing a new Min or Max only changes the fields until that button runs. Check the list after it loads, then Spin. The dialog shows the integer even if the slices are too small to read.

Can the same number appear twice?

Yes, when Allow repeated winners is on. Each spin uses the full loaded list, so a 1 to 10 wheel stays at 1 in 10. Don't repeat winners takes the landed number out, and the next chance is 1 in 9. Load numbers puts the full range back.

Is this a gambling game?

No. It picks an integer from the list you loaded. There is no cash prize, no ticket, and no payout. Use it for a class, a board, or a ticket number you already sold and typed in yourself.
