Classroom names template
This classroom names template opens the random student picker with a starter roster. Replace the names with your class, leave Don’t repeat winners on, and spin where students can see.

The sample list is eight common first names. It is not a real roster and it is not stored on a server. Import a CSV or paste one name per line after you open the tool. Drop absent students before the first spin. Save the wheel as Period 2 if you will use it tomorrow. The list stays in this browser. There is no account. The classroom name picker guide and the teachers hub sit next to this page if you want projector tips or the printable.
Use this when the job is a fair turn, not a grade. Loading this template writes only to the student picker. It does not overwrite a raffle list, a number wheel, or any other tool you already saved on this device. Drop absent names before the first spin.
For a letter instead of a name, spin the letter wheel.
Calling one name without a second spin
Write first names only, and keep one line per student. If two people share a name, add a last initial so the room knows who stood up. Read the textarea once before the first spin and fix a missing line there. The canvas is a picture of that box, so a name that is not in the box cannot win.
Turn on don’t-repeat when the class is going around the room. After a student answers, leave that name out of the next draw instead of hoping the pointer misses them. If someone is absent, delete the line or switch it off before you spin. Putting them back tomorrow is a paste, not a new template.
Point the projector at the wheel, not at a spreadsheet of the whole class, when the list itself is the sensitive part. Say the winner aloud from the dialog. If the dialog and the pointer disagree, trust the dialog: the name was chosen before the wheel moved.
